Company for lunch !

 Well you never know who ... or what .... may drop in unexpected for lunch ! As I was letting the yappy Yorkies out at noon to play in the sunshine , I discovered that standing on the bank at the neighbors were none other then company for lunch ! They aren't fussy about what they eat making them the perfect guest !

 

For those of you that have never heard or seen a real moose well this is what  they look like ! This is a cow moose ( Momma ) and calf ( baby ) . They are quite common when I live but it is still a shock to see them almost right in your backyard as we don't live on the outskirts of the city . There is still a lot of wilderness around us and I figure the animals were here before the buildings were so who am I to argue with wildlife ! LOL !

 Who KNOWS WHAT OR WHO may come for lunch tomorrow !!!

Granddaughter #4 turning 10

  I can't believe that our youngest granddaughter is turning 10 in a week ! Unfortunately due to circumstances out of our control , we don't have contact with her . We know where she is and I always make sure I send her a little something to send her for most occasions . We haven't held her in our arms since she was 6 months old ( sad when we didn't even know about her until she was 3 months old ! ) It has been a rocky road and one that neither us as Grandparents nor our son as her father wish had happened . We see one photo a year of her ( well sometimes ! ) and she looks healthy and happy so one day we hope she will come look for us ... the family that miss her with all our hearts but love her just the same . Sometimes a child is never given the chance to hear the " other " side of the story , sometimes the Father is never given the chance to prove himself as such instead of just a means of money every month ( but I am rattling ! sorry ! )

 Usually I send a HUGE parcel for her but with the price of postage in Canada being what it is , I have decided this year she gets a gift card ( and that is what the son did  for her too ) . The card is going to cost me just to mail as it is ! LOL !

This was a fun card to make and surprisingly , it went together quickly !

 
 The inside of the card holds 2 packages of hot chocolate and the half circle is actually a gift card holder .

A crafty type week

 Another week has passed and I am closer to leaving to see my parents and family ! I did manage to find time to play some this week . Both in my room and with the crochet hook !

 I made this card which was originally suppose to be for valentine's Day but think I will end up giving it to my sister and BIL as an early Anniversary card ( then I don't have to mail it ! ) .

 I used a real sucker on the card . They were sitting near the checkout at Michael's  and I need a couple more $ to get my discount ! The images are colored with Copics and all embellishments on the card as well as the papers have been sitting for quite sometime so it is nice to actually use some of my older supplies ! I did use some new Prima twisters on here . They are a lot of fun to play with but the glitter ones make a HUGE mess ! LOL !

I finished 2 Angry Bird hats this week as well . They are for my grand nephew and niece and I will hand deliver them next week .

Who has time for housework ?

  The last couple weeks have found me playing with my crochet hook and playing a few games on FaceBook ..... though I did delete a couple of those time consuming games that I found I was spending far too much time on and never getting anywhere on !  I am so much happier and productive since I got rid of them too !!! The past few weeks have also found me down to the count on more then one occasion with a migraine ( darn weather systems coming through always do that too me ! BLECK !!!! ) so NOTHING gets done !!!

 Well the weather is more Springlike then winter this year and we have had a lot more sunny days this year then last ! YEAH !!! I don't think I have SAD but I do know that I feel a LOT more productive when the sun shines ! I don't even mind the colder days as long as we see the sun !!! LOL ! I still will be really happy when we can get the RV going again .... but that will be a few months away yet !!!!

 The past few days has found me wandering down the hall on more then one occasion to my desk . I have got 4 images colored and today I even got to put together a card as the inspiration hit me ! I had just received the Magnolia paper yesterday and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it ..... and a good friend had sent me the image ( you know who you are and I thank you so much as it was a lot of fun to color and create with ! ) . All the white paper used on this card is from an envelope that we received a Christmas card in . It was so beautiful that I knew I had to reuse it for something ! It is very shiny IRL ! I used Copics to color my image with though I have no idea which ones ! I think this one will be my DH's Valentine's card ( even though he will be away on business ! ) . The image and the background are from the latest Magnolia release . All embellishments came from MICHAEL'S at some point and some I have had sitting for a long time ! The crystal butterfly came from the bridal isle and was on clearance ! Got to love that !

 I am not entering my card in any challenges as I just enjoyed creating freely with no pressure and just for the joy of playing !

 These are a few of the projects I worked on over the last week ....... 99% of the designs came from my head ( as I said before , I don't follow directions very well ! LOL ! ) All the crocheting is FOR SALE except for the last red bird at the bottom . That is for my GRANDSON who is an ANGRY BIRD lover ! The owl cap will fit a newborn or younger baby ( depending on their head size of course ) , the blue poorboy cap is the same size and the first RED BIRD hat will fit a large toddler or youth as the yarn has a lot of give . All are washable . The little headband is made with stretchable sock yarn and will fit a newborn to small baby .
