About Me

My photo
BC, Canada
I have been married to the same guy for a LONG time ! We have 3 grown children and the 5 loves of our lives that they have given us ... 4 girls and one boy ! I have been crafting all my life and found my true addiction when I taught myself to use Copic Markers and introduced them into my card making ! I am NOT certified in the use of Copics but that doesn't stop me from creating with them ! I always been a bit of a crafting rebel and don't follow directions well !I love crafting with my hands and seldom will you find them idle as they usually have a crochet hook , knitting needles or a book in them . Exercise is not my strong suit ! LOL ! My husband and I also love camping in our RV ( weather permitting ... as in NO snow !) so most weekends from Spring to Fall you find us camped somewhere with our 3 Yorkies .... though don't tell them they aren't BIG dogs ! Hope you enjoy my little touch of my life .... the creative and the real life !

Time for some playing

This week is going by slowly but the nice part is I found a lot of time this past weekend to play and even more on Monday afternoon while DH had a nap . I managed to get 4 cards done for my DT stint but I can't show you those yet ! LOL ! Over on Savvy n Sassy I am trying to get into the top 3 for a chance at winning some ribbon kits in their Ribbon Rave 2010 . Basically , it is doing layouts and following directions for 6 weeks . I don't seem to scrap much any more so this is one way to get a few pages done for ME ! Usually if I scrap it is for somebody else as a gift !

Ribbon Rave Week 2 was to make ribbon flowers and explain HOW you made them ....... This is what I came up with .

My layout ........

Don't know if you can see the dates over the camping vehicles but the tent has the date 1980 on it ... but that is WRONG as it should say 1970's ! ( Yes , we tented when we had a wee one and another on the way ! Sleeping on the ground and being pregnant was SOOOOOOOOO much fun ! NOT ! LOL ) . Then we bought a tent trailer in the 1990's but that was a short lived venture as every time we went out in it , it rained ! Wet canvas smells , it leaks and it isn't much fun .... or we are just wimps ! LOL )  The little motor home was DH & mine  first attempt at traveling in style in the 2006's ..... another short lived venture ....... too cramped inside , beautiful unit but NOT if you had to spend any time inside ! Being we are more or less empty-nesters ( with 3 yorkies ) we decided it was to time to go in comfort and have some space so we upgraded from a Class " C " to a Class " A " motorhome .................. LOVE IT !!!!  It is roomy , it is beautiful and mainly it is small enough ( 32' ) that DH enjoys driving it .............

But back to the layout .......... I used this fun DP by Bella BLVD called " Camped Out " , some Bazzill cardstock and some cool bobble ribbon and ric rac from SavvynSassy to make the flowers . It took some brainwork as it has been a LONG time since I held a needle and thread ( Thumb problems ! ) but I guess they turned out okay ! LOL ! It is submitted to the challenge and now on to Week 3 which we wouldn't find out about until Sunday ( or is it Monday ? )

I also whipped up this little Magnolia Tilda in Tulle

This is the Hoppy Easter DP used here . The colors are so soft on this paper ... I LOVE it ! The velvet ribbon and lace came from SavvynSassy ribbon kits and Peggy's Pretties are tucked in the lace !Martha Stewart edge punch was used to finish the edge of the paper nicely . I have another card on the go but haven't got it finished yet .

DH & I are sneaking away this weekend by ourselves and will be dropping in to see friends . I do believe I may get some playing in again this weekend .... but this is all a secret so SHHHHHHHH .... don't let on ! LOL !

Have a great weekend and happy creating !
