and another one that promises to be busy !
Good news finally on DH from his specialist in Vancouver ................. all his tests came back clear and it looks like surgery is not going to have to happen this year ! Just a change in medication for now and watching what he eats and drinks should help . Time will tell though he seems to be his own worse enemy by sabbotaging the diet on a daily basis . Why is it when we know we can't have we think we can ...... and we eat it ! Ugggg , I have the same problem only that all goes on the hips , the thighs ........ well you get the idea ! LOL ! Work still seems to be a major stress for him and until he learns how to deligate some of his workload to his staff and actually allow them to do what they are hired to do , then he will continue to have problems . Good news though is he has about 75 days of holidays to use before the end of December ......... next problem is to get him to use them , after we get rid of the snow and cold ( it is -24 C here again ! ) so we can actually get at the motor home and some campgrounds and use those holidays . No concrete plans for holidays this year so I think it will be just pack-and-go type holidays this year ! Works for me as they sometimes are the most relaxing kind !
It was also a week of some sad news . DH's aunt passed away at 100 years old ! He did see her when we were back in Winnipeg and said his goodbye to her . Another very sad note of this week passing , SIL had her Mother pass away suddenly as well . That poor family is just coming to grips with their husband , father and grandpa's ( DH's brother ) passing in September 2008 . My heart goes out to all of them . Sometimes you do just have to ask " WHY " :-(
On another note , DH & I are getting ready to fly out to a pre-retirement seminar for 2 nights this week . There is homework involved and now I remember why I didn't like school ! LOL ! The two day event should hopefully give us some insight into the next few years before DH actually does retire ......................... One of the questions on the homework was about whether you had looked into working after retirement ...... my how times have changed as 20 years ago if you retired it was just that , the end of working and now they are asking if you are going to go back to work !!! YIKES !! Of course the joke here is that DH could go back to work on contract with his company and probably make way more money ( in today's economy I doubt it as we are lucky he is still working ..... period ! ) I don't even want to think about DH being retired fulltime as he has no hobbies and no real plans for anything other then camping , fishing and hunting ...................... and sleeping in his chair ! LOL ! At least I can disappear into my crappy room and lose myself in paper , ink and stamps ... or my computer or a book ........................
On that note , time to go read another chapter before heading to bed to start the new week ................................................ Have a great one everybody and may the sun shine where you live and you may see only smiles all week !
About Me
- Donna C
- BC, Canada
- I have been married to the same guy for a LONG time ! We have 3 grown children and the 5 loves of our lives that they have given us ... 4 girls and one boy ! I have been crafting all my life and found my true addiction when I taught myself to use Copic Markers and introduced them into my card making ! I am NOT certified in the use of Copics but that doesn't stop me from creating with them ! I always been a bit of a crafting rebel and don't follow directions well !I love crafting with my hands and seldom will you find them idle as they usually have a crochet hook , knitting needles or a book in them . Exercise is not my strong suit ! LOL ! My husband and I also love camping in our RV ( weather permitting ... as in NO snow !) so most weekends from Spring to Fall you find us camped somewhere with our 3 Yorkies .... though don't tell them they aren't BIG dogs ! Hope you enjoy my little touch of my life .... the creative and the real life !
